Stylish Blogger Award - Me? Ah, Thanks!!

"Old Dog" over at Yellow Dog Farm blog - - gave me the stylish blogger award.  I'm touched and am happy he is enjoying my weekly (for the most part!) ramblings about us out in the desert.  I hope other people are, too!  I started this blog less than a year ago not knowing if anyone would read it and I keep getting more comments and interactions, and it's a lot of fun.  Thank you!  So, as part of this reward, there are 4 things I am asked to do as a recipient:

1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this award (that's above!!) Thanks Old Dog!!

2. Share 7 things about yourself

3. Award 15 recently discovered great bloggers

4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award!

1. I've been vegetarian for 22 years, vegan for 8 of those and only recently added occasional raw, organic dairy to my diet.

2.  I'm a mental health therapist in private practice.

3.  I day dream a lot about being on a many more acres than I'm on and having many more animals than I do.

4.  I'm a Libertarian and for the most part don't trust the government as far as I can throw them (but, I do like Ron Paul).

5.  I went to school in the thick of the Redwood forest in Northern California at Humboldt State University (undergrad) and am a hippy at heart (well, not always politically, but lifestyle-wise).

6.  I believe in hard work and community support when things get tough.

7.  I NEVER buy food at a mainstream grocery store unless I have no alternative and buy local and organic.

And here are my other blogs I'd like to give the award to!  Check them out - they are ALL GREAT!!!

  1. Welcome back! How was the trip?

Congrats on the award (and thanks for including me)! I enjoyed reading the fun seven facts about you. I love your thoughts about food consumption!

  2. Awww... Thank you! Such a compliment! And congratulations to you, too!

  3. Congratulations on your award and thanks for passing it my way.

I think it's always interesting to see what people have to say when awards include writing something about themselves. I dream of more acres and more animals too. LOL

  4. Thank-you so much for the award! I appreciate it.

    Loved reading all about you.
I too am a hippie at heart. If I had been born just a few years earlier I would have been a real live hippie. But mama wouldn't let me be one when I was a teen ager, but I did try!
    Congratulations on your award.
    Have a great weekend.

  5. Thank you for the award, it's a true honor. I'll get this posted over on our blog this weekend, today Cortney has driver's ed in the city and we have feed( grain) and 160 donuts( for the ambulance seminar, not us personally!*wink*) to pick up enroute home.

Glad you enjoyed your get-away from it all! We all need this now and again. With Mike having weekends off again and if gas doesn't skyrocket, we plan to do some daytrips this summer :o) It's had when you have larger animals to leave, even for an overnight trip and we just don't have anyone close( I know, I know my parents are right here, but.... they won't and can't be bothered*sigh)

    Blessings for your weekend,

  6. Thank you, Thank you and Thank you!!! you are too kind. I too, like you, am a hippie at heart, dream of acres and animals and eating from my own garden.

I love reading your blog and even though life gets busy, reading my favorite blogs is a nice break...

    Thanks Again!

    P.S. 9 lbs. down!

  7. Congratulations on the award. You really deserve it. I have followed your blog and admired your strength and determination for a long time now. Thank you so much for sharing the award with me.--Inger
